Podium/ Top 3 at Finals:
No awards are handed out at this meet. Top 3 finishers in each event will be recognized on the podium during finals. Photos will be taken and posted on LA Swimming Social Media. They will be recognized at the far end of the pool (opposite the starting blocks). This will happen during finals after every boys event. The starter will remind the final heat of both girls and boys as they get out to head to the awards area. They will move quickly- if athletes are not there when it begins, they will not wait (this is important to maintain the flow of the meet and the next event starting when athletes are anticipating, etc.
*PARENT NOTE- you can take pictures of athletes on the podium- you will exit through the Spectator entry and walk outside to the Coach/Athete Entry. You won't be allowed to walk through the swimmer bleacher area along that side to get to the podium so please plan accordingly!
Senior Recognition at Saturday Finals:
Seniors will start lining up at 4:30pm on Saturday night; senior ceremony is at 4:40pm. Seniors will be called by team and LA Swimming will take pictures by team as they are announced. Swimmers will come across the bulkhead. Swimmers will receive a flower during the ceremony and can pick up cookies from Eddie at the coaches table.
Facility and Seating pro tips!
This meet can get pretty busy inside the pool seating area. We strongly encourage parents and spectators to bring a chair and consider setting up outside when possible (chairs are not permitted on the indoor pool deck). Swimmers also benefit from taking a quick break outdoors between events for fresh air and extra space. This helps everyone spread out a bit more and keeps the indoor seating area less crowded.
Notes from host team- Facility Guidelines
- Spectators will not be allowed to bring outside food or drink into the waterpark.
- No food will be allowed inside the natatorium. (Athletes will be allowed to have small protein bars and small items inside the pool but they must make sure to pick up ALL TRASH and not leave food on the ground or bleachers)
- All bags will be checked at the gate. This includes swimmers’ bags; however, we will be lenient and allow individual swimmers to bring small items such as protein bars, fruit, etc.
- Absolutely no glass or cans are permitted in the natatorium. We have had incidents with both in the past, and this policy will be strictly enforced.
